He dropped it in a field last week and it landed in some soft soil. A tractor ran it over and yes, it sunk in the soil but no damage was done to the case or the phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Customer service fixed my ignorant mistake First, the customer service is great! Immediately after receiving my case in the mail, I eagerly tried to follow the directions to install my phone into the case. In my haste, I popped the bottom opening off (backwards) to open the case, but I could not get the pins back in the holes. I called customer support - she and I realized that I had misread the instructions, so she immediately made arrangements to replace the case for free, even waiving the s/h. She told me to use the case that I had as is until I received the new case. I would not have waterproofing, but I would at least protect my brand new (expensive!) iPhone X from drops and scratches. I am very happy with my new case since I have already protected my phone from scratches, shocks, and drops of water. I feel secure that my phone will be protected for a long time.

Would this be a good case to use going snorkeling? Does the sea salt water have any difference in impact to the case? Is it still 1 hr in salt water?

Yes, yes, and yes! This case should be fully waterproof in both fresh and salt water. As long as the unit passes the water test beforehand, it will be good to go!

What is different from the iPhone X vs the iPhone Xs that would make the FRE for the X not compatible with the Xs?
