I had this case for over a year. As for the pros, it pretty much works as advertised. It has survived a few drops onto carpet from about 3 feet high. It even survived the water test performed with the test unit. The button placement is also spot on as well as all the other ports. Beyond the protection, I love the slim design which was high on my list of criteria.
For the cons, you can't use the case without a headset of some sort. The microphone will not be able to pick up your voice unless you speak directly into the port. I assume that is due to the water resistance feature. On top of that, cleaning the front facing ports (i.e. camera, light sensor, etc.) is near impossible due to the size. It stays in my pocket most of the time, so it collects a fair amount of lint.
My biggest disappointment is the durability of the material. Maybe around 6 months of using the unit, the front facing casing starting cracking. At first, it was just the decorative pieces around the camera. Which didn't really matter since, it made it easier to get the lint out of that area as the pieces finally broke completely off. Unfortunately, after a year, I noticed that the corners of the casing touching the screen has cracks as well.
As for use, it stays on a desk when I am at home. Other than that, it is in my front slack pocket when I am out and about. I am not out hiking or doing anything remotely extreme, so I expected the case to last until the phone just gave up.
With that said, I am extremely disappointing in this "life proof" case that didn't last a year before breaking down. For close to $100, I would have hoped it would last at least 2 years before showing signs of wear and tear.
