There were so many stories about iPhones shattering that I wanted a decent case to go along with my iPhone 5.
Since the iPhone 5 is my first smartphone I was a bit lost which case I should take. I wanted to have one that did not limit the use of the device.
The LifeProof frê more than satisfies my demands. Furthermore, besides being shockproof and easy to use, it's also really waterproof. There are also some drawbacks which you should be aware of. These drawbacks were noticed even without using the iPhone without case.
The case makes the iPhone lose some of it's appeal, but you can get a nice color to counter that.
It also makes the iPhone slightly bigger and hard to take out of your pocket sometimes, but that can be a good thing as well, you won't let it slip out of your hand fast, which you will without the case.
Furthermore, because of the case being waterproof, there is some trouble to go through when attaching the ear plugs or your headphones, because you'd have to remove the screw to put in the special headphone adapter. That's really a bit of a hassle. I understand they can't make it easier, because it would compromise it being waterproof, but easy is something else. Have I mentioned that you can't remove your headphones from the adapter without making the device turn up the volume to the max? It's quite annoying, so if you listen to music it a lot and might remove the headphone adapter a lot this case might not be for you.
Otherwise, I really recommend it. It's useful, looks nice, keeps your device in prime condition & gives peace of mind. I haven't used a smartphone without a Lifeproof Case and I probably never will. The case is just that awesome.
