LifeProof iPod Touch Case Installation + Use Instructions
LifeProof® gives you the freedom to make your iPod your constant companion — to make sure that you’re ready to go, follow these steps:
First Time Installation
Follow the procedures below to make sure your LifeProof® iPod case is ready to go with you wherever you want to go and do whatever you want to do.

Follow these steps to make sure you are ready to experience new freedoms with your iPod
Check that the o-rings is installed correctly (see diagrams below). Make sure it is free of dust, dirt, hair and other debris.
If the o-rings is not clean, remove it and rinse in warm water, then give it a quick shake to remove excess water before immediately reinstalling
Let’s start by checking that your LifeProof® case is good-to-go by doing the water test. This test checks that all the seals and case are working properly.
1, Check the seals on the rear case. 2, Align the rear case with the front. 3, Clip the cases together all the way around.
4, Close the charge port door and screw in all the way around. 5, Submerge underwater, weighing it down with a coffee cup for an hour. 6, Take it out of the water and check if it is dry inside.
7, To open, twist coin in corner.
Now you’re ready for the really exciting stuff: installing your pride and joy... and iPod.
IMPORTANT: If you have a non-LifeProof screen protector on your iPod, it is recommended you remove it before installation as it may cause leaks.
1, Check the seals on the rear case. 2, Insert the iPod into place, top first. 3, Push the iPod into place.
4, Align the rear case with the front. 5, Clip the cases together all the way around. 6, Close the charge port door and screw in the headphone plug.

Before You Dive In
You’re probably really excited about all the new freedoms LifeProof® now brings you, but before you engage in any activities make sure you follow these common-sense rules:
1, Follow the instructions. Study instructions showing correct installation and use. 2, Water test. Test case prior to installing iPod into case. 3, Install correctly. Ensure your case is correctly installed. 4, Make sure it's all sealed. Ensure all ports and seams are closed tightly. 5, Back-up your data regularly. If you are going to engage in activities where there may be potential for damage to the device, ensure your have backed up your data. 6, Be sensible. Your Lifeproof iPod case is a precision piece of equipment, it is sleek, it is tough, but it's not indestructible. Use it sensibly and with consideration.
Everyday Care Checklist
Follow this checklist to make sure your iPod is protected by your LifeProof® iPod case
1, Keep seals clean. Always ensure all seals around the charge port door and headphone cover and o-ring are free of dust, fibers and debris before closing case. 2, Rinse with fresh water after use. Rinse case thoroughly with fresh water after exposure to chemicals including soap, detergents and chlorine. 3, Regular water tests. Perform water test without iPod at regular intervals and after major impacts. 4, Check seals after major impacts. After major drops or impacts, inspect case for any damage and ensure all seams are closed, see checklist below.
After Major Impact
If a major impact occurs, follow these steps:
IMPORTANT: It is highly recommended the first time installation procedure is performed to check the integrity of the case before exposing to water.
1, Check that front and back of case has not come apart at any point and all seals are tightly closed. 2, Check headphone bung cover is still screwed in. 3, Check charge port door is fully closed.
1, Open case by first opening charge port door. Then inserting a coin into gaps at bottom and twisting. Twisting in a circular motion with coin works best. 2, Lift the back of the case and gently work the back off using a rocking motion. Do not bend the case back and remove in a single motion. 3, To release the iPod, gently twist the ends of the front case in opposite directions.
Headphone Adapter Use
Your LifeProof® iPod case comes with a headphone adapter that allows you to use headphones in wet, dusty,or icy environments all while keeping your iPod safe and sound.
1, Remove headphone plug. 2, Place headphone plug into keeper and screw in headphone adapter. 3, Plug in your headphones.
Wrist Strap Installation
Your LifeProof® iPod case comes with a quick-release wrist strap keeping you on the go and your iPod close by.
1, To begin, squeeze the clips to remove the lanyard then pull lanyard out. 2, Insert the string loop through the attachment point on the bottom of the case. 3, Bring the clip through the looped end.
4, Pull the clip to tighten the attachment then clip the lanyard back into place.
