Stephen Daverio Joins LifeProof as Managing Director, EMEA
EMEA sales and marketing –
SAN DIEGO — April 11, 2013 — LifeProof, the award-winning maker of all-protective,
everyday cases for smartphones and tablets, today announced the appointment of Stephen
Daverio as managing director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Daverio, who
brings more than 25 years of international sales and marketing experience to the company’s
leadership team, will play a key role in expanding LifeProof’s presence and market share
across the EMEA region.
"Stephen has demonstrated a strong fundamental ability to identify business opportunities
and manage them to fruition. We need a leader with this kind of vision for EMEA," said
Fredrik Torstensson, executive vice president of global sales and business development at
LifeProof. "By developing compelling distribution strategies and managing our presence in
the EMEA market, we're confident that Stephen will contribute greatly to the continued rapid
growth of LifeProof."
Daverio joins LifeProof from UK-based Disruptive Group Limited, one of the first companies
to launch a dedicated brand of iPod accessories. As the company’s vice president of sales
and marketing worldwide, he led the global expansion of sales channels for the Gear4
brand. Prior to that, he served as vice president of retail sales and marketing for SanDisk
EMEA and held various executive level EMEA sales and marketing positions at Logitech,
where his team achieved double-digit growth for 23 consecutive quarters.
“Although the smartphone market continues its rapid growth, accessories such as cases are
already becoming commodity items. Few brands have brought as much innovation and
product differentiation into the market as LifeProof,” said Daverio. “That is what has attracted
me to this company. We have a winning proposition for the consumer, and I am confident
that our products will have great appeal to smartphone owners throughout EMEA.”
Fluent in German, English and French, Daverio earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry
from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MBA from the International Institute
for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
