SAN DIEGO – November 6, 2012 – LifeProof, the award-winning maker of all-protective, everyday cases for smartphones and tablets, today announced it has donated $25,000 to the Around the World for Life to help kickoff the charity’s 2013 Around the World campaign. The donation was awarded during the organization’s “Come Fly with Us” event held on November 3, 2012 at Baytown Airport, Texas.
Around the World for Life is a non-profit organization in Houston dedicated to educating children about general aviation while raising money for children with cancer and other life-altering diseases. The organization hopes to raise at least $250,000 before July 2013 by organizing approximately 30 events around the country to take children with life-threatening illnesses on discovery flights.
“LifeProof gives everyone the freedom to use their mobile devices everywhere, including to enhance a child’s quest for knowledge and bring the joy of learning through hands-on experiences,” said Gary Rayner, CEO of LifeProof. “We are excited to partner with the 2013 Around the World campaign to bring the passion of flying to children as well as to help those suffering from cancer and other illnesses.”
“LifeProof is the ideal partner for us,” said Theodore Wright, founder and president of Around the World for Life. “As a pilot and sailor, I depend on my iPad and iPhone for navigation and communication. LifeProof cases protect these devices from water, dirt, snow or accidental drops, so they can be used in any situation. At the same time, nothing will hinder our use of these devices at our educational events. LifeProof enables continuous learning in all kinds of conditions and environments, while letting kids be kids.”
Supporters are encouraged to donate in $10 per mile increments to help the organization achieve its goal of 24,906 miles around the world. Donations can be made on the organization’s website at http://www.aroundtheworldforlife.org/donate.
